Analysis the concept about\u00a0visual art\u00a0of Sanshui(a contemporary artist from shanghai)<\/p>\n

If we review that what happened in\u00a0Chinese contemporary art in the past nearly 30 years, we\u00a0could come to the conclusion that\u00a0the direct way to\u00a0express\u00a0tragedy has been completely eliminated.\u00a0Firstly, young\u00a0generation artists\u00a0have\u00a0gradually begun to use breezy way\u00a0to describe the psychological status about individuality\u00a0and society. Furthermore,\u00a0it can be believed\u00a0that the art work\u00a0in this exhibition not only\u00a0represent\u00a0the trend of\u00a0the development in\u00a0Chinese contemporary art, but also fully embodies\u00a0society dissection from new contemporary phenomenon.<\/p>\n

Sanshui was born in 1970s\u00a0and he is a sensitive visual artist. Wisdom and marvelous insight about art make him so different in the art world of China.\u00a0Comparing\u00a0with the way of social expressing from the\u00a0other visual artists in China,\u00a0Sanshui has paid\u00a0more attention to\u00a0personal descriptions. In fact, expression of private desire is\u00a0usually appearing\u00a0in the present art\u00a0world, which means\u00a0sanshui had abandoned\u00a0the psychology of common expression belonged\u00a0to the 1960s and 1970s artists, then\u00a0turn to choose the youngest way\u00a0to express his ideas\u00a0.\u00a0On the other hand, these digital art\u00a0works represent\u00a0the\u00a0time\u00a0from past to now and his art work record the development and change in the society of China.<\/p>\n

I was very surprised when I saw his new works two months\u00a0ago.\u00a0The previous works of him convey the concept\u00a0of traditional Chinese\u00a0culture. But,\u00a0his new art works reveal some kind of considerations\u00a0about social communities in the contemporary world and\u00a0the special\u00a0identity from China now, although he still adopts traditional perspective way which is called view borrowing\u00a0.<\/p>\n

View borrowing\u00a0is a way to create traditional Chinese art\u00a0which is called garden art,\u00a0but this\u00a0artist is no longer limited by the original concept.\u00a0Sanshui inherited the classic spirit and mixed it with modern art, and create a new art language. On the other hand,\u00a0new high-tech photography art entered the stage of contemporary art.\u00a0Recreating\u00a0the pictures which means\u00a0post-production has\u00a0been adopted. Sanshui use\u00a0this method keenly and reconstruct the way of expression about personal experience which under China’s traditional culture concept.<\/p>\n

Now,\u00a0we have entered an digital era ,every outstanding contemporary artist should have a decisive and definite attitude, as one of the emerging powerful contemporary artist ,Sanshui has been belong to Shanghai .From the famous series of “the bund” to a new Huangpu river” series, Sanshui has described\u00a0about Shanghai with his deep understanding.<\/p>\n

All in all, from the perspective of the development in\u00a0Shanghai\u2019s\u00a0fine art history,\u00a0we couldn\u2019t\u00a0find enough artists who still express their thoughts about Shanghai in the recent\u00a0few\u00a0years. Hence, Sanshui\u2019s\u00a0new art works\u00a0continue\u00a0to\u00a0keep\u00a0his concerning about Shanghai. At the same time,\u00a0it is also a good action to enrich contemporary art in Shanghai. From the “Bund” series to “Huangpu river” series,\u00a0more and more people will know the charming\u00a0attitude\u00a0of Sanshui\u2019s\u00a0visual art.<\/p>\n
